This is one of those poems that I think any woman would like to imagine herself as the object,  to have the confidence and self-assuredness to be able to say, "Now you understand, just why my head's not bowed...when you see me passing, it ought to make you proud."
A Phenomenal Woman in her own right and one of the members of the Alliance, Natalie Borgardt, passed on the poem to me, because she felt I was who fit the category.
I share this poem for all of the Phenomenal Women out there, whether or not we believe it ourselves and to commemorate one of the most Phenomenal Women I know, Dr. Lois Jovanovic. She is truely a most remarkable woman, a mentor, and someone that I am proud to call a friend. We didn't have many women while training, but we had Lois.
A special thanks to Maya Angelou for penning these words of inspiration to remind us to be proud of who we are as women.
